THE L.S.U. MISSION
To develop creative and strategic programs that enhance life skills, bolster individual talents, and inspire young adults to LIVE IN FOCUSED EXCELLENCE. Our holistic approach is meant to decrease juvenile recidivism and produce men and women of distinction.
OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM
Keith Brown Mr. Brown has over 20 years experience in business and executive management. He has tremendous intellect in helping to motivate and train young adults into becoming productive citizens. His unique experience with hiring and training young adults helps to provide positive alternatives to reckless lifestyles. A native Washingtonian, Mr. Brown is committed to using his own experience as a youth leader to promote healthy lifestyle choices through mentorship. He leads all LSU manhood development, life skills programming, and intervention initiatives.
Anita Muhammad, M.Ed Mrs. Muhammad has 20 years of experience in youth program management and development. She is an experienced communication executive who began her work in the DC metropolitan area as a student activist on the campus of Howard University. Her work in young adult education, arts enrichment and community outreach is instrumental in developing relationships with key stakeholders both nationally and internationally. She leads all LSU womanhood programs, parenting initiatives, workforce development and curriculum planning.
OUR STAFF
The L.S.U. Staff includes professionals with over 20 years experience in service to youth and young adults. Our staff consists of a diverse pool of educators, curriculum planners, program managers, trainers, business executives, project managers, team leaders, youth advocates, gang specialists and volunteers.
Our staff has impressive experience in conflict resolution, team building, personal development, individual life management, social skills, etiquette training, entrepreneurial ventures, community leadership, guidance, counseling, and trade certification.

L.S.U. Transformative Mentoring Program
Transformative Mentoring is an intensive form of mentoring implemented by The Mentoring Center (TMC) in Oakland and later used by several organizations and programs around the country. In 2009 DYRS and a core of community volunteers from L.I.F.E. Skills Unlimited began Transformative Mentoring for committed youth in Washington DC. The goal of Transformative Mentoring is to change the mentality in the youth that gives rise to “destructive behavior.” We are proud to have had over 200 committed youth come through our mentoring program.
L.S.U. Workforce Development Campaign
Our organization is currently placing youth at jobsites in the metro area. Consider partnering with our organization to ensure that our young adults have opportunities in career exploration. L.S.U. Academic Tutoring and Learning Center
Our educators focus on SAT Preparation, Computer Literacy and Academic Tutoring. Our state of the art learning lab was designed to provide a friendly arena where youth can safely complete homework, prepare for tests and core grade advancement. Lessons are tailored for each youth based on their educational assessments and current class requirements.

L.I.F.E. Skills Unlimited attends Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Initiative Call-In Event at the DC Superior Courts. LSU along with government and community stakeholders across the city converged to help encourage teens toward a safe and crime free summer. Community leaders are in the planning stages of developing late night activities for youth throughout the summer months.
